With the participation of a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, the work of the Arab-French economic summit was launched on Wednesday under the title “Partnership that must be documented in a world going through crises”, in the French capital, Paris.

In a speech to the participants in the summit, representative of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Musan Nahas, a member of Damascus Chamber of Commerce, confirmed that participation in the summit comes at the official invitation addressed to Syria through the Federation of Arab Chambers.Nahas considered this invitation as representing an important and major turning point in the return of Syrian relations with everyone.

Nahas pointed out that lifting the unilateral unjust sanctions imposed on Syria represents a humanitarian duty, stressing the need to lift these sanctions that cause harm to all components of Syrian society, including children, women and the elderly, especially after the catastrophe of the devastating earthquake that hit the country last month.

On the sidelines of the summit, the delegation of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce held a number of meetings with the Arab delegations participating in the summit. Nahas affirmed that Syria is considered a country of peace for all people, and the gateway to the East economically. The delegations expressed their understanding of the need to lift sanctions on Syria.

It is noteworthy that the Arab-French Summit was jointly organized by the “Arab-French” Chamber of Commerce, the Union of Arab Chambers, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Marseille, and the International Chamber of Commerce. Its agenda includes five sessions on environment, water, industry, modern construction projects, food, medicine, banking reform and banking facilities.
