Dubai (ST): The Syrian-Emirati Business Council and the Umm Al Quwain UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an agreement to activate cooperation between the two sides and support trade exchange and economic relations between the business communities in Syria and the UAE.

The agreement, which was signed in the Syrian pavilion at the 'Expo 2020 Dubai' today, provides for the development of commercial, industrial, agricultural and urban cooperation between the two parties to develop entrepreneurship with a focus on sustainable development, real estate development and renewable energy.

The agreement was signed by Muhammad Ghazwan Al-Masry, Chairman of the Syrian-Emirati Business Council, and Khalfan Ahmed Misfir, Chairman of the Umm Al Quwain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of Dr. Ghassan Abbas, Syria's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and General Commissioner of the Syrian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, and the director of the pavilion, Eng. Khaled Al-Shama`a.

The signing of this agreement comes on the sidelines of Syria's participation in the 'Expo Dubai 2020' and following the official exchange visits between the Syrian and Emirati sides since the launch of the exhibition at the beginning of last month.
